What’s your opinion on McDonald’s?
~~~~~~~~~
I personally think it’s okay, but if there’s other places I can get food I won’t go out of my way to go eat at McDonald’s.
I think the McDouble is the best tasting food item on the planet. I know a lot of people disagree, because the best food can't come from McDonald's, but really, nothing I've ever had tastes quite as good.
Haven't had it in probably 5 years now, because I stopped eating fast food for health reasons, but even after all these years of clean eating, the McDouble is unmatched in flavor.
in my country (Russia) it's average. the burgers are cheapest shit imaginable: the buns and meat are tasteless, so they taste like mayo, pickles and ketchup. nuggets are okay-ish but they cost way more than they should. on the other hand, most of what they have beside that is ok, they have good fries (still made with beef fat I think) and ice cream. the restaurants look nice too. too bad the food is just disappointing.
Where I live, If you want something that will truly sate your hunger, mcdonalds will go for resturant prices. Not sure if it's so cheap. Making your own food is definitely cheaper.
McDonald's is alright if you want something edible while you're on the road. It tends to be more convenient than most other franchises simply because there are tons of them no matter where you go. It's also quite cheap compared to similar establishments.
The 20 chicken nugget box is the only reason someone would pick McDonald's over a Burger King or Wendy's. I knew a lass that ate McDonald's chicken nuggets for every meal. If you've ever wondered what a truly picky eater is like this is it.
I mean for the price and convenience, its fine. I usually only eat it if im traveling or in a pinch before work or something. Their "Artisan" sandwiches are interesting.... Ive had a few that were really good and others that seemed like a drunk person raided their fridge and put everything on a burger.
My opinion on McD? Well, let's take Big Tasty, aight?
There is like 1/3 pound (~135g) of meat there right? Ground beef. Like costs like 3.5 bucks where I live, a bit less.
Now, for that price I can buy like 600-700g (~1.5 pound) of beef proper, common breed, but good part of.
When cooking that, 1/3 of the weight evaporates, 2/3 remain. Now, that's bout 400-460g ~ 1pound, of perfectly good fried beef (I fry on beef tallow too, so it's all soft and juicy, said tallow costs almost nothing, but you have to put time refining it beforehand). 3x the amount Big Tasty sports. Now, Big Tasty isn't, you know, all ground beef. There is a nice bun, bit of tomato, some salad, cheese too, finally the sauce. But let's be real, it totals to half the cost the beef part by itself.
Meaning, by doing the cooking myself, I can sport double the value of Big Tasty in beef equivalent for the same money. And if I know how to cook, it doesn't taste any worse from Big Tasty's beef AT THE VERY LEAST. I mean, I am not to harp on McD's meat, it IS surprisigly decent for the price, compared to existing alternatives, but it's not a particularly high a target to overshoot.
Point being, by doing Big Tasty, I basically overpay just for the sauce since I can more or less replicate everything else for quite a bit less, should I want so. And the sauce, while nice and stuff, just isn't really worth it. So.
They have the best coffee out of McD's, Tim Hortons, and gas stations. The only food worth getting there is a $2 Junior Chicken with added cheese and thai sauce. I don't eat there very often because it's 30 minutes away and expensive but when I do big drives I do my best to get their coffee.
I can never eat inside because the tv is always tuned to motherfucking Fox News. I asked them if they could turn the tv off or change the channel and they said they wished they could but it was corporate policy. fox is probably paying them or some shit.
I hate being shouted at by stupid talking heads while trying to eat.
