anyone else here /donewithbeer/? after too many drunken nights going out and drinking beer, I've slowly been going away from it, I just feel so much better with a simple vodka soda or a nice whiskey, not bloated and wanting to go to sleep.

>> No.12561611

>>12561599
Same.

Whiskey is sugar free, carb free, and few calories (~100 per 1.5-ounce shot). It's great if you're trying to lose weight, but still want/need to get drunk.

I also like to sip on stuff, and alcohol has good flavor to sip on, it kinda occupies my minor OCD, if I was rich I'd just buy single malts once every two weeks

>> No.12561625

>>12561614
>if I was rich
Plenty of great ones that regular middle class people can afford. No need to buy the super expensive ones. Remember that whisky quality doesn't increase in quality in a straight line into infinity as the price goes up; it follows a logarithmic curve and eventually plateaus.

>> No.12561866

Nah. Old Grand-Dad 114 is decidedly not intended to be smooth. It is a very high rye content, very high proof bourbon intended to not compromise on flavor one iota in the name of "smoothness."
Some people think of high rye as burning or spicy, but to me that shit is Flavortown.
This is not a smooth whiskey. This is a delicious, intensely flavorful, complex and balanced whiskey that'll put hair on your chest. I highly recommend this intensely masculine bottle of poison wood water.

You realize you only get methanol from fermenting fruit pectin, right? And you don't get it in any appreciable measures, it was all a government propaganda conspiracy to keep people paying taxes. They poisoned alcohol with methanol and blinded and killed people, but that was for tax money. You throw out your feints and you get less methanol than is in a bottle of wine, which is actually made from fruit pectin.
