That‘s why a 10 year old Ardbeg bought 80 years ago tastes virtually the same as the one bought yesterday, even though the harvest is different year on year and the casks are most certain to have been replaced in that time. That is not to mention the single malts that by design have a blend of different finishes like Uigeadeail with its bourbon/sherry mix. The ONLY thing that single malt means is that the drink comes from a single distillery. That‘s why there are fucking single barrel editions out there - because most fucking aren‘t. And it‘s THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT of Laga Distillers‘ Edition, that you slob over, is that as opposed to normal 16yo that is assembled to stay the same year on year, this one varies substantially and is treated like a millesime.
