Sup guys, long time lurker on the chans.
First time poster on /ck/.
I bought a stainless steel cookware set about 3 years ago. I wanted some advice as I've noticed that cast iron seems to be popular.
Is cast iron better than stainless steel?
Also, is it possible to season stainless steel pans?

Cast iron and stainless both have their uses. I use both. You can technically season a SS but I never do.

are you trying to get this board shut down??

i use my cast iron more than i use my other pans, including the stainless steel. part of the reason is that it's bigger and deeper, but i'm one of those fags who thinks it yields a better result, particularly for meats, and especially if you need to finish some meats in an oven. plus they hold heat for a longer so you can just let the food sit in it to stay warm
