Anchovy pizza is delicious

I like it, but I wouldn't call it delicious so much as "the only thing you can taste is the massive amount of salt." Which is a good thing, but for a different reason than some fancy complex flavor profile having dish would be.

Tony's on Crystal Street had a signature pie. It was anchovies, green olives, and a whole bunch of other shit. It was the goddamn greatest but the old fuck had to up and die. Now you'd be lucky if they didn't fuck up your extra cheese. Dear god what a shame. Tony, you fat fucking wop, you owed us more time.

you're supposed to rinse the fucking fillets, nobody understands or knows this fact, which is why every pizza you've had with anchovies on it sucked.

I didn't know that, ill do that next time i make my shrimp, oyster, anchovy, and mushroom pizza

I didn't suck though. Lots of salt is a good thing. I just wouldn't confuse getting a massive amount of salt flavor with actual deliciousness. It's like the difference between enjoying pickle juice after depleting your electrolytes vs. enjoying the taste of a fine wine that actually has a complex flavor profile to it.

It's not like it's an official rule, that's just this one anon's preference, like the people who think you're supposed to remove grease from pizza with napkins.

anchovy pizza separates real pizza eaters from babby palate children

Yes, it, agree though on salt

Nah, I like anchovy pizza but it definitely isn't an adult palate thing.

When I get pizza I either get double Anchovy or double olive

Anchovy anything is delicious! My optimal pizza: double anchovy, old world pepperoni, black olives, onions. And sometimes, if I'm the only person who might eat the pizza, I go full /madlad/ and add a salty cheese like feta or Gorgonzola. If I'm eating with someone else I make my 'chovy pizza more palatable by adding arugula to cut the salt.

i like it
but i don't know why they don't dice up the fillets a bit so there's a tad in every bite, and not stray fillets across the each slice that are overpowering

>> No.12493688

>>12493685
Because it doesn't make much of a difference and not cutting them up is the default thing that happens when you don't even bother thinking about this.

With the way people describe it, I would almost wager vegemite or marmite would be a better choice. Just mix it into the sauce, bam, there's your salt.
