I went to a place that does the chips and presents them that way. They actually tasted really nice, definitely different to any other chip I had. The fish looks either artificial or wasteful though, I'd prefer it to just be a deskirted fillet. Salad looks nice too, and it's always nice to have lemon. There's no salt and vinegar on the table, I dislike that. And although white wine is okay, light beer is better with battered fish imo, like a pint of Tennant's. I dislike the looming soy faces, I think whoever put them there ought to have sex. I'd also prefer a plate with a lip instead of a slate so that I don't spill shit everywhere.

Unfortunately, there is only 1 genuine fish & chip spot in my city, and it's a 30-45 minute drive. Everywhere is else terribad or fast food fish & chips. Pub fish & chips is too hit or miss for me to be bothered. I envy the brits tremendously.
