About 16. Once I got over the whole "men have to like beer" meme, it was a pretty clear choice.
I don't even really care about the culture of it all, it's just easier to chug, doesn't make you insanely bloated, and has a higher ABV than pretty much any beer (sans "muh $26 trippel four pack). Additionally, I've never known a girl to turn down wine (unless recovering alcoholic), but I have seen some refuse beer.

Wine has such a boring taste I don't get why people like it. It's like liking flat Lacroix. There's some vague grape flavor and you can pretend it's complex but grape juice with vodka mixed to the same ABV can fool most people into thinking it's wine.
I'll take any liquor over it and decent cider, ale or lager if I want something less strong.

>>12483943
Not sure I agree with the stigma, but I understand where it comes from. Wife and I are late 20s, and drink wine on the reg. Wine bars, tasting, happy hours at fancier spots downtown, all are great fun, and full of younger folks who like to get their drink on, and try lots of new bottles.
That said, I do enjoy craft beer occasionally, and $1 cans of Blue Ribbon at my local dive. Gin is still my favorite alcohol, though.

Farmer here.
You pretentious fucks have NO IDEA how many pesticides and herbicides are in your wine. Grape vines are notoriously sensitive to insects and disease so they are doused in poison to stop that. The vines also grow very slow so they are dosed with poison over and over for literally years until the grapes fruit, and then some more. Do you think they get all that poison off before it ends up in your wine bottle? Here's a hint, they do not. Drinking wine is literally no different than walking into the Home Depot gardening sections and drinking some herbicide and insecticide.

In summary, do not drink wine. It is literally poison. Hops in beer are not very heavily dosed since they grow quickly and are much hardier than grapes. Just some food for thought.

What are you talking about?
The large majority of the very best beer is super accessible price wise, prices have been steadily increasing but even super top tier IPAs go for like $20 4 packs of 16 oz cans, and the best stouts are usually in the $15-$25 bombers or $12-$18 4 pack 12 oz bottles (bombers suck). Sours can sometimes push that higher but many of the very best sours are also in that range

But if we are just talking regular very good beer, not limited release stuff, but grocery store stuff, many excellent stuff is in the $9-12 6 pack range

quality wine just isn't typically this affordable, and usually not even close

Ok. No one starts a vineyard. Vines take 4 years to produce, that’s after you get your root stock growing. As far as maintenance goes. Some do more then others. This is why Mexicans live in New York. Other then that. It doesn’t take much to keep vines alive. That’s why New York is wine country. Nothing else grows here.
