You're talking about the past. Now we have to worry about the future. Yes, the development of certain fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides did help people grow food in areas with populations exploding and not enough food. BUT, we didn't know when to stop, and now we have companies like Monsanto who are both killing us and putting small farms and ranches out of business. That's not progress, that's annihilation. When I handled deliveries, sometimes they would send an entire box, filled with those plastic bubble things, for a single gift card. Every single gift card was shrink wrapped in plastic. Boxes take space in a van, which needs gas and now needs to make more trips, in addition to the actual plastic production itself.

The consumer didn't see any of this. All they saw was that the card and the holder were both made of cardboard so they got to think "Oh wow! That's neat that Amazon's cutting down on plastic by using just cardboard with these."

hunters literally strive to kill the fittest members of a species. if you understand even basic evolution and genetics you would get why that's bad for the ecosystem long-term.

as for fish, no it is not just commercial fisheries. you obviously don't live somewhere where the state has to shut down entire rivers every other year because the salmon populations are so depleted.

This is so much bullshit. Grazing land is left in a completely natural state. Burrowing animals are left to do their own thing (gophers, rabbits, mice, etc). Natural irrigation, run off, soil nutrients, and atmosphere maintenance is left intact. Using giant machines to rape the top soil completely destroys the natural flow and purpose of the habitat and land. There is nothing better for the land to leave it the fuck alone.

Putting cattle on the land is MUCH more natural than shaving up the top 5ft of soil then dowsing it in pesticides and sucking all the nutrients out by blanketing it with crops that suck enormous amount of nutrients out of the soil then harvest the items that would have replenished the soil if they weren't stolen from the land.. The cows fertilize the land and keep the grass healthy by keeping the length down which is necessary for light to reach the lower areas of grass.

Vegans are so gullible and misinformed. I guess you'd have to be retarded to make a decision that defies common sense in the first place, though.
