Fuck no. But if they sell small wedges then sure, it's worth trying, but there's no way in hell you're going to eat an entire jack fruit. It's also a giant pain in the ass to cut up. I get sick of it after just a few pieces, and would compare it more to bubblegum and banana than mango, though the texture is nothing like either.

I'd say they're not good or bad. I could eat it but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

I'm not sure what I would compare it too. Semi-sweet generic fruity taste and the texture is not bad.

I love jackfruit but I don't think I'd ever buy one, I just pick them off trees in my wife's village in the Philippines.

It's too much for one person to eat, even among my family of 6 people usually half of it goes to waste. Also it'll smell rotten but doesn't taste rotten at all. Boil the seeds for 1 hour and you can eat them.

With specific breed at specific ripeness, it will taste great when it is moderately sweet, crunchy, and relatively dry. There’s a breed that is wet, soggy, stringy, and extra pungent.
An inexperienced person can get the wrong breed and has a completely different experience with jackfruits.
Of course, one whole jack fruit is too much for one person to consume at the right ripeness point before it loses with sweet spot texture point
