First of all it's not healthy nor sustainable to to maintain your weight through starvation. If you simply ate normally using common sense and learning how to cook for yourself, you would lose weight (assuming you are fat), and maintain a healthy weight indefinitely with no need for starving or damaging your body. i grew up in a diabetic family, i have never not been fat but through my own will. no, you dont just lose fat through eating normally. all weight loss is accomplished through calorie defecit. im keenly aware of the potential for rebound, but having sustained weight loss for a solid year i think im well equipped to catch and deal with that early on, and when alls said and done im planning on going in the opposite direction and gaining a bunch of muscle. recomposition is great if youve only got a stone to lose or something, not so much when youre at such a high weight youre developing breathing problems.

Idk, but I've eaten some really satisfying foods on a diet. A couple years ago, I had to go on the most hardcore diet I'd ever been on, because I needed gall bladder surgery, my gall bladder was chock full of stones and it was blocking the bile duct from my pancreas, and they couldn't get it scheduled for 3 months, so during those three months, I had to eat a low fat low carb diet (so I wouldn't have a pancreatitis attack), and I found some awesome things to eat. I'd make white meat turkey burger patties and put them over big green salads (pretty satisfying, actually), and I ate a lot of Vietnamese and Thai food (vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, tom kha gai, tamarind and shrimp soup, laarb, etc). It's not hard to be satisfied on a diet if you know how to cook, it's mainly about FLAVOR. The more flavor you have, the more satisfied you'll be.
