Going to Golden Corral with the family tomorrow. What are your favorite combos/creations that you would recommend?

Oh! I'm going an hour before the changeover from breakfast to lunch, so we can really get a good mix going.

Not overweight, and not gay if that matters. I know for sure Im making a waffle sundae with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, caramel sauce and bacon. It's damn amazing.

If there's lots of niggers there get the fried chicken. It will be FRESH. Was eating at a CG and a whole pack of them showed up. They were celebrating, I think one of them manage to graduate high school of something... best fried chicken ever.

I have never been for breakfast, but the lunch to dinner price savings is worth going a little before that price changeover. There are way more dinner items than lunch items of higher value.

I typically hit up the southern thing, items I don't often make at home.
First course/apps plate: small salad/3 bean salad or a deviled egg. A few hot items: chicken wing, hushpuppies, chicken livers, roll with butter (butter is at the salad station), fried okra(!) or mushrooms or mini corn dog.
While you're at the meat station, figure out if it's steak you need to pre-order to your desired doneness. They play games! Order what you want now, eyeball what is being refilled or needs refilling and plan accordingly for Second Course.
Second course/second plate: whatever meat looks good, from pot roast to ribs, it varies when you go what the special is all about. Cabbage, zucchini, collards, prolly a corn muffin or sweet potato casserole. I'll pick up some watermelon or fruit on a side bowl.
I'm typically done at 2 plates plus fruit. Dessert station is demolished and gross at my local GC. But if it isn't contaminated, there is a hot blueberry pie you can top with a little vanilla ice cream. Rest are grocery store tier stuff. Fudge isn't bad.

Drink: Get your soda or tea of choice, but they WILL bring you some coffee to finish up with your dessert, just ask your waitress. Be nice to them and tip, they are usually stiffed. It's a shit job.

Dude. So crispy and tender
Not oily whatsoever.
I like the fried chicken or steak.
The trick with the steak is ask for a piece that hasn't been cut. Let it rest 5 or 10 minutes. So tender and juicy.
