Do people actually like it, or is it just a bunch of weekend vegans trying to impress similar douchebags on instagram?

I just tried my first one. It wasn't as dark as pic related, but it seemed to be ripe. Cut it up, peeled off the skin, cut the rest into chunks, took a bite and... it's a bland, slimy mess. Basically no flavor at all. Even the stories of the heinously bitter skin were overexaggerated.

I use really ripe avocado (grey strands just appearing) with canned salmon, using the avocado creaminess to offset the dry and bland texture of the canned fish. I haven't had that combo in a while, thanks for reminding me to make some.

A great avocado can be eaten alone, but you won't find many of these anywhere, unless in a country that grows them, right off a small local production.

Run of the mill avocados are alright, but are better with extra stuff, such as the classic guacamole. Don't waste your time eating avocados raw, they're not worth it.
