It comes from Bang Bang sauce, usually served with shrimp. I believe the term Bang Bang sauce is trademarked by Bonefish Grill, which coincidentally makes the worst Bang Bang shrimp, particularly the tacos. Should be much more spicy.

It's unironically called "yum yum sauce" and this is obviously the copycat name. Many chains have versions of it, and this must the one that isn't copyrighted yet.

Beef o Brady's has boom boom shrimp. It's a fatty sauce that has a bit of heat and sweetness to it. It's not really much like yum yum sauce except that they have a similar consistency and are mostly fat.
