I'm not suggesting that it is chinese food, or that actual chinese food is bad, only that american-chinese food is inherently tasty.
Which is what the real chinks in the video say too.

crunchy deep fried stuff slathered in a viscous sweet sauce is not alien to chinese cuisine either.
Peking Duck is almost that. As it's not deep fried, but getting crispy skin is the paramount concern and the plum sauce which it's served with is in the same vein as well.
Chinks will also routinely deep fry whole fish and cover it in a sweet sticky sauce.

Just because white cut chicken and steamed fish exist doesn't mean they don't enjoy deep fried crunchy things and sweetness. Hoisin sauce is very sweet. So is oyster sauce. Those are backbones of their food.

It's an acquired taste. Liver, for example, is noticeably bitter - and has a texture completely unlike normal meat, more resembling tofu. Personally, I like it a lot, but I'm completely unsurprised there are people who hate it.
