What's the best diet for easy pooping? I was on keto for a while and never knew how smooth dumping could be. I'm back on a dirty carb diet and pooping is sorta strenuous. Anyone on paleo have any input?

On keto, it seems like you don't need much fiber to poop well. But when you introduce carbs back into your diet, you need to add in fiber. Eat lots of leafy greens and other produce. Also if you really have a hard time you can consume some straight coconut oil or olive oil or other oil. Also if you buy a coconut, drink the milk/water, and eat some of the flesh, you may very well shit your brains out.

I think a low carbohydrate, high fiber (non-starchy vegetables) diet gives me the best poops. Somehow I can't resist sharing general poop wisdom on these threads, but once again: for good shits, everyone can benefit from drinking more water, not drinking much alcohol or taking prescription opiods, exercising daily (especially running/walking), and squatting or putting your feet up on a stool when taking a dump.

Any time you drastically change your diet, you should expect a week or two of unusual poop as your gut flora adjusts to breaking down the new types of foods you're putting in there. After the adjustment period, that's just what you get with that diet. I don't think there is any one ideal diet for all human beings. I think there are some genetic differences and a lifetime of cultivation of an individual's personal intestinal biome.

You probably eat too much highly processed prepackaged junk food. Most people who only eat fresh, less processed foods poop once a day and it's a painless 5 minute or less activity.
