Anyone who serves a lettice other than Iceberg should have their genitals mutilated with a branding iron

Buttercrunch is the best. Iceberg is objectively the worst lettuce.

Whoa that's a bit harsh. Save the mutilation for people who serve salad with arugula.

Why does romaine seem so gross?

How can you be such a fucking food peasant? Iceberg lettuce has it's place, but every single kind of lettuce is delicious and good. My favorite is Oakleaf lettuce (both the red and green). Iceberg is for when you need a crisp crunch, usually for topping other, softer foods. It's not for salads, unless you mix it with other lettuces.
Also, just FYI OP, I have a branding iron, and I spent my younger years working cattle and if you don't start eating more than just fucking iceberg, I'll demonstrate how to castrate calves the old fashioned way, one on one.

A mature head of romaine is very stem-y, and the edges are softer than you might like. Buy romaine hearts instead, they're younger, crisper, and the green part is still firm and juicy.

No lettuce except iceberg should ever be on a burger.
However, salads are a different story and >>12426097 is correct.
