these ridiculously thick burgers with all sorts of shit in them and a knife jabbed in to hold the mess together are just stupid

Depends on quality of my beef. If I cook the beef in the plastic tube rare that's a bad idea, but if I grind my own meat I've never gotten sick from a bleeding raw burger.
