Why would you use American cheese when you can easily do the exact same thing with other cheese, even multiple different cheeses at once

American cheese works out to about $4/lb which is the same price or close to bulk natural cheeses ($4.00-4.99/lb). People buy it because they like it and because it melts like nothing else.

Seethe more, yuroslime.

It's literally not cheese though.
This isn’t an opinion. According to FDA, Kraft can’t even refer to their singles as cheese. By FDA standards, a food can be labeled as cheese if it contains at least 51 percent real cheese.
You know what it says on the ingredient list? Pasteurized prepared cheese product.
Cheese doesn't need an ingredient list, because it's just be made of cheese. Kraft Singles has 17 ingredients.

Here's something to try out. Take real cheese, and take kraft cheese and light both of them on fire with a lighter and see what different reactions the cheese has to the fire.
