Minute macaroni and store brought tomato sauce. Her idea of homemade was anything that took about ten minutes or more to make. She didnt even cut our veggies. We had whole tomatoes and carrots. Luckly she lost custody

This, except it looked and tasted even worse.
Macaroni, canned tuna, frozen peas, a can of cream of mushroom soup. Stir, top with crushed stale potato chips.
Bad taste, bad texture, zero effort. Thanks mom! Every goddamn week too.

Either this or curry moon chai ya with cabbage. My mom's also a vegan Buddhist blonde Swedish American, she only cooked ethnic dishes though, unless she was making crab or steaks.

Since my dad was a cattle rancher, we ate a lot of beef. And we went fishing a lot, so we also had fish regularly. And mom had a huge garden while I was growing up. Basically, we ate a lot of steaks, roasts, braised, stews, fried or broiled fish, and tons of vegetable dishes and salads. At nearly every dinner, and with lunch on the weekends, we'd have a plate of sliced tomatoes and onions with vinaigrette with our meal. I don't have a clear memory of a specific dish, but more like a range of dishes.

My mom's son only ever got fed 10 or so different meals so they pretty much were all once a week recipes. Those recipes were:

>spaghetti sauce
>spaghetti sauce with chili powder
>crock pot chicken and velveeta
>frozen chicken nuggets
>bagel bites
>slow fried chicken (real mushy breading)
>crock pot roast beef
>deli sandwiches
>steakum cheesesteaks

in grade school I used to go to my best friend's house a lot for some reason (my own house was nicer) and they always had french fries with dinner no matter what the dish was. Fish sticks, swedish meatballs, chicken legs, whatever it was, always french fries. Then one time I asked how come they always ate french fries and his mom said they didn't and it was probably just a coincidence that I'd been there the times they did. But I don't remember ever eating french fries there again thanks for reading my blog
