Anyone who says they don't like English food isn't doing it right

>Ham egg and chips
>A pint of bitter
>In a pub by a river
>On a cold, sunny day

Genuine heaven

by this logic, no american food can be american food.

just because a part of your food culture developed in the last 4 centuries, it doesn't make it not part of the culture

No by that logic potatoes, corn, tomatoes, etc are American foods. Just because your shitty faggot monarchy stole it from other countries doesn't mean it's part of the culture. I already see Brits trying to claim Indian food as their own when someone makes fun of their bland boiled haggis shit these days.

If you're free to take any food and claim it as your own then the concept of having an authentic English dish is meaningless. I can make the same thing as OP in America and just claim it's an American dish. You can't argue because hurrrr it's not actually stolen durrrrr. Either food is owned or it's not. You can't have it both ways.

none of those are really dishes that were specifically created by England

Really it's just a bunch of single foods or ingredients put together

Peas?
Egg on Ham?
That's not English, that's something basically every country that has access to peas, eggs, and ham has
At most you could say that the combination of those items is more associated with britain, but I mean not really
Split Pea soup often has ham
You can order breakfast sandwiches with friend potatoes, ham, and an egg on top
There are plenty of things that you could deconstruct those ingredients into to make actual foods with

Never had any trouble flipping my eggs without breaking the yolk. I just periodically check the bottom side until it starts browning then gently turn it over. Am I doing something wrong?
