no it's in the training to let people order however they want. also they haven't forgotten the word large just because the size is called something different

no they will be autistic.
in fact they will force you to sit down and chain you to a chair across from an african american person. you will be forced to undergo diversity training where you will learn about implicit bias and when it is and isnt appropriate to use the word "bl*ck" and why people of color should be cherished.

it's a "coffee of color" by the way.

Most will automatically go for the venti, but they will call it a venti when they hand it to you. You're also stuck with Pike Place, unless you ask for something else (or if the manager/district/regional is being a conniving twat and pushing the blonde roast) - it might be the worst coffee they have, in my probably wrong opinion.

In my experience they ask "venti?" to clarify which size you specifically meant. Sometimes they'll point at the sample venti cup while asking.

Thank god there's a coffee shop nearbye that sells sweet desert coffees, as well as normal coffees. Affordable prices, better taste, and I don't have to decode hipster language.

I live almost right next door to a Portuguese bakery that does some mean espresso. They do the full nine yards cheaper than the Bux too, but my real question/point is: why do they look at me like I'm retarded when I order an espresso/latte/cappuccino without sugar? Their coffee tastes good, they steam the milk properly, and I'm usually giving myself diabetes with a custard tart. Is it some Portuguese joke us Canuckunts don't get?

This happened to me. Never went back.

The clarification is sometimes necessary. 20 oz is the size of some places' extra large - Starbucks included.
