Lodge fags really have the blinders on with surgical staples don't they? Those pans are pieces of shit. They just molded them and through them in packaging like they were a McDonald's toy. Look at the damned surface.

And before someone corrects me about forging, whatever. Just compare the fucking images. Unless you spend a couple days in your garage with some expensive tools I hope you have grinding them down to a workable surface, then seasoning them, they're shit compared to OP's pan, or compared to an older pan.

This is one of the last scams left, the IR scam, because so few people have used a true IR camera.

For example:
Black = 399.5 F
White Hot = 400.5 F

That said I like my modern, sorta thickish, stamped steel pans, they're an essential part of the arsenal.

Shit genetics. I've been dislocating and fracturing my hands (and more) my whole life. A lifetime of sports and army fucked me up bad without me knowing for years. I got an x-ray about 10 years ago after I'd dislocated my shoulder in the army and I was diagnosed with EDS. All the pain in my hands and knees that had been getting worse was me pushing my body past it's limits. I got discharged shortly after they confirmed my heart was fucked too.

Also, you absolute fucking chimps, go to fucking Walmart and buy a $14 lodge 12 inch cast iron and fucking USE it and it will outlive you. Jesus christ. Artisanal cast iron multi pour bullshit. There's little 5 foot Asian women cooking on the street in Thailand with burnt up fingers and no running water that cook you under the table with hand me down cast iron and pot steel. Just buy the tool, get comfortable with it, and treat it with respect.

Nah, I picked up a 60 year old cast iron for $5 at my local Christian thrift store and used about $100 worth of Klingspor DA pads at work to make the cooking surface flat and smooth as glass. Then I seasoned a few times with peanut oil just in case some genetic mistake is accidentally invited over to dinner.

I used a 3M palm DA, ~50 pads, and about 5 hours of 10 hour shift to polish mine to perfection. The Klingspor pads I used are $1.81 each.

Spatchcocked chickens, steak, pizza, cookies. Once you've built up a good seasoning and maintain it you can cook really anything that isn't highly acidic (unless it's enameled like a Le Creuset). Eggs will require some amount of oil no matter what.

Senpai-tachi, cross-poster here.
Came to ask about cast iron pans since my shitty tefal started flaking.
Is it a good idea for someone who cooks an omelette once a week to get one, keeping in mind that I find cleaning my shit very tedious?
