how do i step up my pizza game? i feel like the caveman discovering the monolith once i tried experimenting by piling on the dry additives (ground black pepper, oregano, pepper flakes, paprika, chili powder) and distributing them on the dough and then baking for about 5-6 minutes.

then i take the sauce (jarred shit combined with hot sauce and a little bit of mustard for tanginess) and assemble the pizza as normal.

i also now work the dough with a coating of olive oil on my hands in order to ensure a much more crisp crust.

Make your own sauce. It's easy and worth it. Use a pizza stone.

make some nice sauces and use as toppings.
try weird combos, i recently had a pizza that had some sort of indian spiced meat, a slaw of carrot&fennel and some sort of sauce which i can't remember and it was great. Obviously tomatosauce on the bottom and cheese on top, add some sauce on top of the pizza after taking it from the oven.
also i've had a ceasar salad style, skagen and some other non-traditional pizzas

Here's an English breakfast pizza I made before I ran a marathon the other week. Mixed baked beans into the pizza sauce. Was amazing so have a go at converting an entire dish into a pizza equivalent for great success.

Pizza sauce at it's simplest is crushed tomatoes, basil and salt. But you are of course welcome to add anything else you want for taste, garlic, black pepper, oregano, simmer with tomato paste etc, anything you want.

Threw it ontop of a pizza

It's all about the the crust and the toppings. Less is more.

1. Stuffed crust, every time
2. Experiment, try different toppings, sourdough, etc.
3. Don't put a million fucking toppings on, less is more
4. Use Cajun at all, that is the spice of which god has endorsed

I agree with you. Cooking the sauce isn't even necessary. Just let the mixture of crushed tomatoes, salt and basil sit in the fridge for a minimum of 3 hours and you're good to go. Don't over salt it as the process of baking dehydrates the sauce and the salt shows its presence when baked. Also, all the toppings probably have enough salt as it is.

Wow all great advice.
I like the tomato paste as well for that umami (oh god I said that word) but it really does help.
