But anon, it's like eating a whopper with day-of butchered, grass-fed, American beef. Not that 2/3rd soy, beefscrap, chicken tossings.
It simulates perfect meat.
I now doubt you've ever had one.

YES! I just did today. Drove from Chicago to St. Louis and back in one day because I couldn't wait anymore. And yes, it is better than the regular whopper. The whopper has been on my shit list since forever. But this saves it.

Impossible 2.0 definitely has a minute aftertaste, 1.0 was much cleaner and tasted better imo, very savory, like a good beefsteak. 2.0 reminds me of a Bubba Burger

>Impossible burgers are just off. Anyone else feel this way? They do taste mostly like beef but leave a weird aftertaste that I always burp up for hours afterwards. It's really distinct and not entirely pleasant.
Yes. There is an aftertaste. But it's nowhere near as bad or as long-lasting as the aftertaste you get after ingesting say a diet coke. It's far less bad. The point is that it tastes great as you eat it. And no, I didn't experience any long-lasting burps. I think you made that up.

Also, there is actually a shortage of impossible meat because it's flying off the shelf. On top of that, Burger King has already decided to expand nation-wide. They would not do that if it was a failure, as you seem to suggest.

Admittedly, impossible burgers tend to taste even better at slightly less fast-food-y places like Red Robin. If you didn't like BK's slightly dry offering, I suggest you try the one from Red Robin before giving your final verdict. The aftertaste is so slight that if you're not a finicky baby you can easily brush it aside. Unlike for something like say a Boca burger or Beyond Meat burger. The aftertaste of those is totally unacceptable.

Tell those tardlets to check out the nutrition on them. Has almost the same calories, a bit less fat/cholesterol, and more sodium.
Only reason to eat this over a regular whopper is for environmental reasons.

What's wrong with them? Sounds like they're exaggerating just a bit. You can say it's not your favorite food ever, fine, but it's hard to say it's straight up "bad". There is no justifiable reason to complain about it this much, aside from some psychosomatic prejudice against imitation meat. That ship has sailed and it's never coming back.
