For me it's shells. They never have disappointing fillings or leave sauce on your mouth.

WTF I have never seen those before.

My favourite shape are rotini - easy to cook uniformly, easy to stab with your fork (unlike penne), they hold a lot of sauce and still they are substantial enough that a fork with three or four makes an actual mouthful.

I like penne, not sure why. I get the rotini holds more sauce but i dont like it saturated with sauce and i dont like the texture as much.

What's the point of the rotelle?

Is it supposed to be like that? I'm not complaining since it's my favorite too, but I feel like I'm cooking it wrong every time because it always comes out that way.

>> No.12291366

My number 1 is bucatini. By like, a wide margin. Number 2 is a tie between cavatappi and radiatore. Number 3 is penne so that''s usually what I'm having because most grocery stores don't have the others.

I've never heard of trenette but they look delectable

In my country (USA) pasta is shipped in poorly sealed cardboard boxes, and sits on supermarket shelves long enough that it'll probably be infested with bugs by the time you cook it. So I avoid the shapes with holes, folds, etc., because they can't be easily inspected.

Nah that's pretty much the appeal of them, i eat pasta like every goddamn day, either as breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I have found out some great secrets of pasta and that of farfalle being that putting grated gouda cheese on them and then scooping them up is a amazing experience. The cheese sticks them together and you can simply scoop up a massive spoonful of those buggers.

100% depends on the dish/sauce, but in general I really like campanelle (they're a bitch to make though). The true god tier of pasta is filled shapes though, like capeletti (essentially tortellini shaped from a square piece of dough rather than a circle, giving them a distinct 'peak' on one side)
