You try the Impossible Whopper yet? I couldn't tell the difference and it made me feel a lot better than a greasy burger does.

This seems like a bait thread but I'm going to bring up two things:
1. Had an impossible taco the other night, and it was pretty decent, I wouldn't have known the difference if someone had told me it was a normal fast food taco.
2. I don't understand how people feel "terrible" after eating one fast food burger. What the fuck is up with people?

We're going to be forced to eat mock meat made in a lab while the elite get to eat steaks.
You can already see it happening.
Yea sure, beef is super expensive because SuPpLy AnD dEmAnD.
We're just getting forced into eating chemical slop.

I would eat lab grown meat

My gripe is that real meat is going up in price so rapidly then all of a sudden "Look, a BASED meat replacement!" that just happens to be known by everybody in like 2 weeks.
And also gets its own shilling threads.

I dunno I'm a vegetarian but I don't see any reason anybody would go to Burger King for a fucking veggie burger when there's plenty of better tasting things you can get

My first bite actually made me think about how it tasted like a veggie burger, but finishing the burger made me think there was relatively no difference

I think it's definitely possible to tell, but I don't think the differences are big enough to where it's a bad substitute

I also had the impossible slider from WC
What's hilarious is that they didn't mimic the shittyness of a regular slider, so the way I was able to tell which was which was because the Impossible slider looked more like an actual slider than a sloppy mess of cheese and onions

I will say, it was a tad dry but nothing too severe that couldn't be fixed by a competent home chef

Yeah im sure thats why cultured meat is in supermarkets and restaurants across the globe and fake meat is still stuck in a lab

>people feeling terrible after one burger
It's just vegetarians coping with not eating meat. "Oh, I didn't like it anyway, it made me feel bad", etc.
If you're a veggie just own it, no need to make up dumb shit like that.

"The original Whopper clocks in at 660 calories (more than half of them coming from fat), 40 grams of fat, and 28 grams of protein. The Impossible Whopper comes in at 630 calories (again, half from fat), 34 grams of fat, and 25 grams of protein.

The Impossible Whopper does have significantly lower cholesterol — 10 milligrams compared to 90 milligrams — but has more sodium at 1,240 milligrams compared to 980 milligrams."

There's a difference between grease and coconut oil and unironically the grease tastes better but at least they've dialed the calories in

>> No.12284980

Are you asking as a vegan who hasn't enjoyed both? I'm not opposed to coconut oil but as far as flavor beef fat is of course better matched to a "burger".

>> No.12285004

>>12284980
I guess I'm asking more about metabolic differences that flavor. OP seems to be implying that grease makes him "feel worse", and that weasel term is typically used by broscientists as an indicator that the ingredient is somehow unhealthier for them.

It's designed to make coconut oil taste more like beef fat, but sodium isn't the killer people make it out to be, provided you're not obese and sedentary.
>>12285004
Doubt the research exists, as far as a legitimate scientific comparison of acute effects of coconut oil based fats versus beef in burgers. But placebo effects can be strong, I mean, I don't feel my arteries clogging from a beef patty but that's admittedly as anecdotal as OP's claim.
