Hello All,

I would just like to get some recommendations on what I should get at a Taco Bell restaurant seeings how its getting close to "Cinco De Mayo". My girlfriend and I are deciding to drive into town there to the new restaurant for our 5th anniversary. I know almost nothing about Mexican food except for tacos and burritos and I haven't had those for at least 4 years. We are planning on eating there on the 4th. So I suppose the specials won't be ready yet or is it a whole weekend thing?

So what should I order if I am new to Mexican food?

Thanks,

I'm not OP, but meal prep fags are insufferable in the office. Always making a big deal about how much money they're saving, making the office smell like shit with their microwaved leftovers, and then of course being the ones who complain to the boss that I left the office for lunch while they worked through it.

We no shit had to have a meeting to tell the meal prep folks that they had to stop complaining about people who left for lunch, and to stop tracking their time.

Because you lack the planning and efficiency in your life to appreciate it.

Why so offended by the fact that people prepare food in advance and then store in appropriately to eat later? You can talk about 'week old' food with as much disdain as you want but most food properly cooked and then frozen is perfectly good eating a week later with little effect on taste or nutritional value.

What is with you delusional faggots who interpret everything in the extreme, create strawmen, and then crudely take them down whilst patting yourself on the back with a smirk?

It's possible to meal prep AND cook regularly. Evening meals for instance could be prepped to last for several days whilst lunch could be made on a daily basis. It is simply grossly inefficient for a single person with no dependencies to be cooking EVERY SINGLE MEAL and think they are doing themselves a favour. It is wasteful of both food, time, and energy.

i sure as fuck wouldnt make a weeks worth of food only to destroy it by (im going out on a reach here) freezing it then thawing it and microwaving it to eat all week long. everything about that just sounds awful.
i just spent 15 minutes prepping dinner for when i make it in a few hours. onions/peppers cut for fajitas, onions diced for beans and rice. lettuce shredded and i made pico de gallo. beans are rinsed and ready, chicken breasts are pounded and marinating, it took no time at all.

Meal preppers are clear past the point of being able to enjoy food. Working 60+ hours and eating the same pre-prepared meals for a week straight because I HAVE NO TIME is something out of a dystopia. Nice assumptions.

>> No.12272163

Today I will remind preppers why their habits are similar to those who eat soylent for a "meal"
1. Soylenters do not care about what they eat they view cooking and eating as a chore. Get it done with! They are concerned with efficiency
2. Preppers also do not care for cooking. Instead they frontload all of their meals for the week. They do not care for taste or texture of their food. As it gets noticibly worse after even a single night in the fridge. Prepper arguments are about efficiency. Similar to soylenters.
3. As you can clearly see both groups are concerned with efficiency and do not care for cooking or eating good food.
If you do meal prep you may as well be slurping soylent every day instead.

so many office lackeys and developers I've known spiral into this never ending cycle of overworking, coming up with shitty solutions to their lack of time, and then coming up with more shitty solutions to deal with the side effects of the original shitty solutions. their entire life is either working or finding "lifehacks" so they can spend more time working.

I'm convinced meal prep was invented by people who can't cook worth shit. it's not that hard to spend 5 minutes on breakfast, take a sandwich or leftovers for lunch and cook dinner. Eating the same thing 5+ times a week reeks of inadequate cooking skills, make different stuff.

I dont understand how people can live with the monotony. If you want to meal prep do something like a batch of pasta, chicken and sausage. Do a dinner and lunch of pasta, red sauce and sausage, and another of pasta alfredo and chicken. It takes almost no more time than one meal and you get two without it being boringly identical. Repeat mid week with two kinds of tacos, potato dishes, creps, casseroles or any of 25 other things. You both save time and don't have to eat the same thing over and over again.

True, but skill aside, I think it's largely to do with bad prep or clean-up habits that people come to hate cooking and might resort to this. They probably hate cleaning to begin with, but they save washing for the very end instead of as they go along, making everything more like a chore and time consuming than it really is.

Needless to say, hating to clean and being bad at organization and time management all probably go hand in hand. These people don't have time to cook not because of work, but because they're shit at all the above. They can only make it come together during the one day a week they plan for it.

weekly meal prep is by definition making food for at least one meal, all week. That means that chicken you cooked sunday afternoon is 5 days old and you ate it 5 times, I'd call that monotony. 2, maybe 3 times and I'm over eating it for at least a month or two. Cooking different foods doesn't have to be hard and time consuming, so why eat the same thing over and over? Variety is the spice of life.

It's not that bad. One can still cook a real meal on the weekend. Unfortunately this IS the world we live in now and food prep takes a load off of busy people. And it's really not just about work but house chores, social life, even studies that all take up a lot of time. It sucks it really does and I hope our generation can seriously get a lighter work week through legislation but as of now prepping is helping millennials juggle it all.

Cooking every day is patrician and you're never going to get full fresh quality by eating what is essentially leftovers a week at a time. Depends how much you like peak flavor and freshness and if you can tolerate the work required. You can minimize the work by washing dishes after every evening meal so that the kitchen is ready to cook every time, and rather than prepping meals for a week, planning recipes for the week and doing the grocery shopping on the weekend so you have everything needed.

tl;dr prepping is gay, you're eating the same leftovers every day and not even saving that much time
