I think if they had a big rock and hollowed out a recess it would be good for cooking a lot of foods, since it would also stop fats from leaking out.. like, a big rock bowl that you could light a fire around. I understand it would be a little tricky to make but you'd figure they'd stumble across a bowl like rock and realize it's useful? I know primitive cultures use heated rocks to boil water
