It makes you tired and prevents waking up looking for calories.

Prevents you from waking up because you are hungry. A great idea. People shill against it because they want you to suffer and are misguided.

wait so it makes it harder to wake up? How does eating before bed make you hungrier? If I don't eat I go to bed hungry and wake up hungry regardless.

it's easier to fall asleep when you're hungry. just remember to eat a good breakfast so you wont starve yourself.

Calories in, calories out. Eat lots of veg and fruit and unprocessed foods. Eat meat a few times a week. Fish and seafood is good. Eggs are good. Carbs are not evil.

Goodnight, off to bed

it does make you tired but it can also give you funky dreams. this can be counteracted by jacking off before sleep to remove all anxiety

eat
jack off
shower
sleep like a baby for 10 hours

Nutrition student here. There are LOTS of different opinions on this. But many people seem to claim that the 'after dinner dip' helps them fall asleep. I personally think that's the case for me as well, although i do have to sleep right after the meal, if i go to sleep more than an hour after the meal then it doesn't seem to work as well for me. There is some theoretical evidence for this as well. The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems compete with each other, and the whole processes of absorbing and digesting food run on the parasympathetic, meaning that they lower the activity of the sympathetic (the 'action' nervous system), making you more tired. I haven't seen any evidence on how it influences the quality of sleep, although i admit i never actually dug into that subject, there might be some studies out there.

On the other hand. not eating can also have theoretical benefits for sleep. When in a fasted state, hormones like HGH increase drastically, which theoretically could speed up recovery processes and so we can expect the quality of sleep to be better. Many people who practice intermittent or prolonged fasting anecdotally claim that they need less sleep and feel way more rested. I can personally confirm this (anecdotally), especially after prolonged fasting. My gf an i often dont eat or drink (anything but water) for the entire day, and when we do so, we literally have the best nights of sleep in our lives. We fall asleep easily, don't wake up during the night, have very realistic dreams, and wake up feeling very well rested. It also makes you breath very calm and snoring seems to disappear even in heavy snoring people. The calm breathing is probably explained by the body not burning a lot calories and running on fat instead of carbs (fat has a way more oxygen effective metabolism than glucose). The snoring i'm not sure about though..

TLDR because post was too long to type it on the same post:
>Noone really knows
>There are lots of different opinions (even among experts)

lol. Whenever i binge drink i can sleep very well, but if i only have a couple of drinks i also tend to wake up after few hours and have trouble falling back asleep. I use it as a good excuse to always drink more than a couple of drinks.

The fact that your body gets deregulated if you go without food for a couple of hours is a very nice sign of developing diabetes. Stop giving in to the urges and save your health anon.

different anon but I've been eating something (usually cereal) before going to bed every day for the last few years and my last CBC revealed slightly elevated blood glucose, slightly elevated LDL and slightly elevated TSH. I'm otherwise pretty healthy otherwise (not overweight) by I've wondered if there's a connection there...

You misread his post

Personally i dont eat 3 hours before my bedtime. If i need to eat a late night snack, which i do, i just stay up until i feel like i digested enough.

I do this becaude i hate how i feel when k wake up if i went to bed immediately after eating. I even avoid food coma naps just by not eating more than i can handle, which is usually a little before feeling "satisfied". In the range between "satisfied" and "full" is the food coma danger zone.
