Oldfag here. I worked at Taco Hell in 1987, it was my first job in high school.
We actually used a big kitchen knife to cut up flour tortillas into wedges, and fried them in shortening, then dusted with cinnamon sugar fresh as needed.
They were superior to that manufactured shit they sell today.
