I was born with out a sense of smell (congenital anosmia) but I still compliment people's cooking despite everything tasting roughly the same.

>eat a normal portion
>it's half, maybe even a quarter of what I would usually eat
>ravenous hunger mere moments after the last bite goes down my stomach
>literally torture every minute of the hours until my next meal

I had a terrible cold a few weeks back. It cleared up mostly, but my sense of smell was gone and it was hell on earth. I would have I eternal panicked attacks thinking about what if my olfactory had been damaged and I could never smell or taste again. I'm so sorry to hear that, but I suppose at least you can take solace in that you could never really smell/taste to begin with.

I'll splash some milk in the scrambled eggs if they're too dry.

I always wonder if people that can't taste stuff are in really good shape? It would probably be easy to eat super healthy and stay slim if everything tastes roughly the same.

Thank you... Losing weight is a struggle when food seems like the medicine to all your troubles... Just weighing yourself at the wrong time and "gaining" 2 lbs out of "nowhere" can make one give up a diet and binge until you get your senses back.

For me it's the McDouble. I haven't ordered a McChicken since 1997.

I still have food preferences, it's just mostly based on texture instead.
Gimme some crunchy stuff and I'll devour it.
