Anyone tried any interesting sardines or other tinned fish recently? I got some 555 deenz from my local tiny Asian store and they're good but hella salty. They're fished in the Philippines so who knows what the standards are.

Got a mixed six pack from a local cannery that uses some native Australian indigents, one is pepper berry leaf and another lemon myrtle. Only tried the regular olive oil so far, the deenz where huge and meaty more akin to some boneless fillets I've had but without the blandness that comes from the larger fish. They where slightly better than king Oscar for my tastes, I'll report back once I've tried the native ones.

I put hot sauce on my hot sauce deenz. Chicken of the Sea is shit, but at least that combo infuses them with Louisiana hot sauce, so it's the most palatable bargain bin.

Has anyone tried capers on their saltine/sardine combo? Not sure if it would overpower it or not.
