For Japan, that is huge. Make all the Amerifat jokes you want, but when I visited Japan, I ended up eating at 2 or 3 places per meal because the meal sizes really are so small and I was too self-conscious to order multiple meals at the same place.

In my opinion, McDonalds isn't really that much better in Japan. Yeah, the stores themselves are nicer and cleaner, the service is better, the food is generally prepared better, but it is still just McDonalds. It simply isn't worth it to get any standard McDonald's item even if it is in Japan. Even the Japan only items on the regular menu are just okay.

However, the limited menu is normally pretty okay. Recently there was the teriyaki egg burger with thick sliced pepper bacon, one of the better things I had from them.

Unless you get expensive buns or a patty, nobody should pay more than $5 for a burger. McDonalds's burgers are solid platforms, and if you have the patience to fix one of their "shit" burgers, you can have a very serviceable meal with sides for around $7, once you buy a a large fry and a large soft drink. For a few bucks more, you can buy from Wendys on sale and with a bit of polish and fitting on the everything, you'll have a burger that will match or out diabetes almost any of the Five Guys or Red Robin offerings.

I started assembling burgers about 10 years ago. Recently, I've assembled 2 more, have all fixings for a third, and have 2 stripped buns for future projects. Get on Burger King's mailing list. You won't be sorry.

I tried the Giga Big Mac today.

As expected, it is just a bigger big mac... Not that I was expecting to it to taste better but I am still left feeling disappointed. Seems to be about 1000 calories which is good because I hadn't eaten much.

Konata and Nadeshiko seemed happier than I was about it.
