They're water soluble. That pan literally dissolved into nothing during the wash cycle

Cast iron owners waste a significant portion of their lives hardening oil over it and making sure it doesn't get removed and the porous iron underneath doesn't rust, instead of just buying steel.

Scrubbing it clean, or lord forbid dish washing it, ruins their work.

Spend more time masturbating, or use modern technology and clean your technology and learn to your knives.

Finding more bowsette images is less of a kitchen sin than encouraging using cast iron over modern steel. Hell, some anon just posted an info image that showed sandwiched steel/aluminum makes cast iron look like a joke.

Rinse it with water and give it a light scrub, sometimes scrub with salt paste. It's not hard, you have to be a complete fucking retard to fuck up cast iron. Unfortunately this place has quite a few, so the meme that cast iron sucks became a thing.

"seasoning" is fatty acids covalently bonding to the iron, you can't wash it off unless you take a steel wool to it or let water slowly evaporate in it

>> No.12185322

Would that actually ruin the seasoning?
I have never used a dishwashing machine.

>covalently bonding to iron or iron oxide
first off, iron doesn't form covalent bonds, retard
and second, the seasoning gets ruined when you use surfactants that pull the baked-on oils out of the pores in the iron. any type of soap is not good for cast-iron
Steel wool is bad for cast iron because you're literally gouging scratches in the iron, the same reason you shouldn't ever use steel wool on nonstick teflon
