Anyone living outside a major city may not have access to buses, drive up to an hour to work (god I wish I was joking) but 30 minute commutes are common, and even in the suburbs around major cities entering them without a vehicle a mere 15 miles from downtown is impossible unless you get started for work an hour and a half to three hours early (St Paul)!

I stopped watching when they became hunters, clown man announced he was getting a boner fighting a child, and then the two kids went to his home island and had an evening camping trip talking about how they'd be together forever traveling the world seeing all the beautiful things. What pissed me off is the whole premise of the show. They become Hunters to go after fantastic monsters, danger, etc etc; shown in the OP. I dropped the show. From what friends tell me they never even fucking get to it despite it being long as fuck. I wanted this to be about you assholes hunting dangerous monsters you fucks.

There used to be an extensive trolly network to bring commuters into town from the burbs
The automotive industry bought it all up and tore the rails out of the streets to make way for newer, more "modern" busses

And of course after WWII there was a construction boom with the newly invigorated economy, all new infrastructure was built entirely around the automobile because busses are for smelly poors and trains are communism.
