>> No.12154026

They say it because they have a rudimentary understanding of human biological function and nutrition. They have enough knowledge to know that fat is crucial to cognitive function and cell health, and they have enough knowledge to know that there is no biological reason to need to eat sugar, and that eating too much comes with inherent health problems. You don't have to be an expert to have a good handle on the gist of things, and "fat is good, sugar is bad" is a better gist than most have.

>> No.12154043

The only fat you need is in whole seeds and nuts, and maybe some golden algae. There's no need to separate flavorless oil from the tasty and nutritious bits. Y'all really need to stop that medieval shit.

Probably because the overconsumption of sugar is a bigger problem now, I think the average person in the USA is having like 70g of sugar per day and it causes a lot of problems.

It would be more helpful if people were able to moderate all aspects of their diet instead of doing these extremes like saying consuming any amount of refined sugar instantly makes you sick and unhealthy.

Been running the keto diet and not going to lie its pretty interesting. Don't really feel bloated surprisingly since I used to stay away from most fat in general. Also tend to feel much more energetic during the day compared to when I was doing my veggies/rice diet that didn't do anything for me.
