This is a good subject. Can confess I ate shit all the time despite trying not to before I got my shit together. It's not entirely your fault. There is so much shit out there that people eventually give in.

You've got to throw out the bad food entirely. Don't put pizzas there "just in case". If you have a freezer full of onion rings, burgers and fries, sooner or later you will get to them. Be really tough to yourself, throw them out, your whole kitchen has to be healthy.

Invest in sauces and spices. Smoked paprika, chillis, worcester sauce, pepper, hot sauces, bbq sauces. Good brand stuff. Not mayo, salt or ketchup. You can make healthy food taste incredible and it's so cheap.

You also need to plan in advance. For instance, my typical plan is something like a breakfast is a banana, and/or a wholegrain bar. Lunch is wholegrain rolls packed with turkey, tomato and spinach. Dinner is a large bacon omelette with beans, mushrooms and rocket salad. You need to plan due to the logistics of keeping fresh meat and vegetables in your house.

There's so much shit being sold purely because they are "treats" and "snacks". It's junk food. If you're going to snack, enforce a rule that it is something like a health bar, or some grapes or satsumas.

Also changing my routine made an impact. Take a route to work that avoids takeaways. You simply have to make it physically more difficult to be tempted into eating shit. It's ridiculous how many fast food restaurants there are in the world - I live in a rural area and pass TWO in 10 minutes.

Once you get on a roll you will be amazed at how much power you have to change your diet entirely and you will feel better. Also it will become imperative as you hit your 30's so start now instead of later.

I just add like big salad before every meal like two fistfuls of spring greens a tsp of kalamata olive oil and a tsp of balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper and just slam that fucker. I dunno about city life in Ohio because I live in suburban/rural but Ohio is pretty cool really. It bothers me when people shit on Ohio because it's really quite nice and quiet here; we have next to no natural disasters, no dangerous wildlife, and lots of greenery. The easiest to follow would just be some type of protein (meat or tofu), some fat (probably get it from the meat or the oil you cook it in), some carbs like bread or rice, and then some vegetables. Probably aim for something like 30% protein/35% fat/35%carbs. Too much protein can be bad for your kidneys in the long term but you can do high protein if you're trying to cut weight since you're taking in less food overall.

The only real way would be to measure everything and then calculate it yourself based on your TDEE. Like if you needed to eat 2000 calories, then (2000 * (.30) / 4) would be how many grams of protein, .30 being the percentage, and 4 being the amount of calories per gram. But honestly, you can eyeball it, it's not a strict ratio. Some days you can eat more or less of each component and you'd be fine. Realistically, I'd only just account for the protein and try your best getting equal amounts of carbs/fats in the rest of your portion.

Many of us have been conditioned since childhood to view super sweet / salty / fatty food or beverages as the "norm", which in turn makes real food taste bland by comparison. If you're a fatty, think about how much junk food you've eaten over your life, and how many times you've seen advertisements normalizing the consumption of the same shit that made you fat and dislike the "bland" taste of normal foods. Now think about how many advertisements you've seen for normal foods....there's a reason for that.

If you want a healthy eating lifestyle, you must accept that you HAVE been conditioned to view shit food as "normal", and you'll have to re-set your mind, AND your taste buds with normal foods before you will ever be successful at not being a disgusting fat body.
