What sardines does /ck/ eat?

>> No.12087458

King Oscar, preferably the Mediterranean style.

>> No.12087567

Cold or room temperature? I had a container in the fridge by accident and ate it cold. I think I might have liked it more that way.

>> No.12087572

Whatever is cheapest.

Is there a noticable difference in quality?

>> No.12087613

I think there is. The King Oscar cans are way better than fucking Bumblebee.

>> No.12087689

>>12087591
Absolutely. Brislings (like King Oscar) are smaller, more tender, and more supple than stuff like Bumblebee.

To be honest I prefer to eat king Oscar anchovies straight out of the can

>> No.12087872

I'm eating King Oscars right now, I also like Smoked Baltic Brislings

I went 20+ years without eating them but gave some sardines a try lately due to /ck/. The ones I had were okay over crackers. Will try out more varieties out of curiosity.

>> No.12087921

>>12087901
There are 2 types of Sardines, little ones and big ones.
The big ones are almost unanimously bad.

Trying to get more fish in the diet. It's pretty good mashed up on some buttered toast and lots of black pepper. You can eat it like you would a tuna salad. I'm a little bitch though so I gotta mash em up but they taste pretty good. Not fishy at all like you might think.

Not the fanciest brand but they do the trick for me.

>> No.12088332

Whichever one is on sale at Costco, typically Season brand. If any of you want to eat more sardines here's a lazy way to do so but with more than just crackers

1) Crack egg into your bowl
2) Mix soy sauce with the egg
3) Put hot rice onto egg and mix it in, it'll get a velvety texture along with cooking the egg since it's still steaming
4) Add sardines
5) Put a bit of teriyaki sauce onto the sardines
6) Mix the sardines into the eggy rice

It has a perfect ratio of carbs/fat/protein so it'll keep you satiated for a while along with being like 4XX calories. it's probably purely a placebo but I actually feel stronger after eating sardine eggy rice

You have to like saltwater, almost briney flavors. If you like salmon roe sushi, you might like this; though the roe is saltier in this case.

Anyone had dried sardines?

>>12087567
I ate some cold deenz once but didn't really care for them.

>>12087572
Walmart's brand is good and very cheap, Season's are good and not much more than Beach Cliff. I usually buy the latter two.
