Most sociologists and historians of class will go by underclass/poor, working/lower middle/prole class, middle class, upper middle/professional-managerial/broad elite class, upper/oligarchic/narrow elite class. Like Fussell, who names low, middle, and high proles, the middles, and the uppers (divided into upper middles, uppers, and Top Out of Sight).

Proles are like 50-60%, middles 40%, upper middles 5%, upper class... maybe 200k or 300k, TOOS very, very few.
