I actually live near a CoCo in socal, and i've been to one in japan.

they are actually pretty comparable overall, with the US menu being a bit stripped down. Flavor is about the same, biggest change is that for spice they just seem to add a bunch of chili oil (I always get spice level 10) but in japan I didnt really see much oil so I guess it was some sort of spice mix?

as for if its worth it? I wouldnt drive more than 30 minutes for it. If you are in socal within driving distance of a CoCo you are probably also closer to other places that offer similar dishes.

I will also note that prices are pretty expensive for what you get.
