Anyone else baking/cooking for Purim here?

I'm making roast chicken and vegan moussaka for a festive Purim brunch this weekend.

No. I don’t like Judaism and think it is detrimental to society.

>Purim (/ˈpʊərJm/; Hebrew: About this soundפּוּרִים (help·info) Pûrîm "lots", from the word פור pur (גורל / fate),[2] related to Akkadian: pūru) is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, who was planning to kill all the Jews.
>Later that evening, Ahasuerus and Haman attend Esther's second banquet, at which she reveals that she is Jewish and that Haman is planning to exterminate her people, which includes her. Ahasuerus becomes enraged and instead orders Haman hanged on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. The previous decree against the Jewish people could not be annulled, so the King allows Mordecai and Esther to write another decree as they wish. They decree that Jewish people may preemptively kill those thought to pose a lethal risk. As a result, on 13 Adar, five hundred attackers and Haman's ten sons are killed in Shushan. Throughout the empire 75,000 of the Jewish peoples' enemies are killed.
>The previous decree against the Jewish people could not be annulled

wait so this is just a celebration of jews killing their enemies? pretty grim. christmas or thanksgiving it ain't

Wow, those cookies look great, I've never seen them with so much going. The ones you can buy in stores in Israel have way too much dough relative to the filling and I don't like them.
What are the filling OP? Post the recipe

>"Palestine"

How can you occupy a place that doesn't exist?

>>12062271
Very few Jews do either of these. This is like saying Christianity is bad because of what Mormons or the Amish do. Ultra-Orthodox are a small percentage of Jews and killing a chicken is not the same as like slaughtering animals ritually regularly and offering them to a priest/Rabbi. Most Jews do not do either of these customs.

Blood is forbidden to Jews to consume.

Sterility is appreciated by many Jews as we invented a variety of sterile circumcision equipment.

Some people are rigidly traditional and somewhat superstitious in all religions.

>>12062293
Yeah, but it was very tender, just very, very hard to form and shape.

Perhaps browning the butter did it, or maybe letting the dough chill in the fridge for 3 days did it. Or some other factor I'm not thinking of. Not sure, but I like the result except next time I would use a triangular mold so the shapes aren't all hecked up.

I made hamantaschen with my mom. we did hazelnut filling and raspberry jam filling. they turned out pretty good. she only had self rising flour so the dough puffed up too much but it still tasted good. I like the ratio of filling to cookie in your pic OP, might try that next year

Hazelnut sounds amazing.

Yeah, I didn't add any baking soda or powder to mine which apparently is so that they hold their shape so the filling doesn't leak out.
