What the hell is wasabi used for apart from sushi? I’m genuinely curious because I’ve never seen them used in any other foods.

Thats because whats in that wasabi mayo actually IS horse radish. Real wasabi root is incredibly expensive and tastes similar to wasabi so its used everywhere. Unless your at a very reputable sushi place you are probably not eating, or have possibly ever eaten, real wasabi.
