Do people from this board actually cook/eat food at home? I'm not talking about snacks and drinks obviously, I mean do they actually cook stuff like meat and even liver or garlic at home, and then eat it there? Doesn't it stink the place up and breeds pests?

If you're not joking we need to take notes from classic literature and construct lethal chambers for your generation to casually walk into.

I exclusively roast whole heads of garlic with used cooking oil in the backs of fast food establishments. The insects that attempt to reach the succulent bulbs have their wings burn in the intense heat before they can reach the vessel in which the bulbs slowly roast.

Mostly breakfast and maybe some kind of evening meal, to keep my body from going into full starvation, but made myself 2 eggs fried in the grease of some homemade bacon that I had next to them
Shit was cash

Mostly it feels like the clean up keeps me from cooking

Yes, yes I do cook food in my home. And no, it does not particularly smell.

bullshit, it's food, it always smells

>>11956798
oh yeah clean up also, like just leaving the bones and leftovers out in garbage bags would probably attract all manners of insects, not to mention rats

Yeah but I have a rangehood so even if it does smell (but only fish really lingers) the smell never really leaves the kitchen.

You can wipe the interior of the hood, and should be able to remove the stainless filter for easy cleaning. I mean, just fucking apply gently soap and put a garden sprayer or even a bathroom shower in front of it to cut out stuff.

My mom makes cheese, tahini, fish cakes, meatballs, sahlab, cold tea, soups, no-bake cake, spanakopita and other pastries, and all sorts of other things. She almost never buys prepared food.
She grew up relatively poor so she ended up learning all these things when she was young.

I'm hoping to pick up some recipes soon, I'd love to be able to make my own cheese

I cook nearly every meal I eat at home.
No, it doens't smell. cooking smells dissipate shortly after you're done cooking, and there's no mess or pests unless you're some kind of subhuman scum who doesn't clean up or take out the trash.

>>but again why would you do that when you can just eat out like a normal person
IMHO it's the opposite. Normal people cook. rich people and morons eat out a lot.

As for why? Easy: it's cheaper to cook at home, and if you have some basic experience the food is usually better too. Better food for less money is an instant win. Not to mention I enjoy cooking. It's a great way to get away from the stresses of the workday.

Pests? No. But I never grill steak inside, or pan sear it or anything. Chicken and fish I will, though, and sometimes ground beef for various dishes. It seems evident that you do not know what Italian cooking is. Go look at Youtube videos of people making beef and pasta. It doesn't stink up the place, it stays in the food.
I usually only grill steaks outside. Either way, even though I live on the edge of a wildlife reserve, I tie off my garbage bags and lock my trash bins. No rats at all, aside from maybe on in the garage every year or so.
Garlic isn't an issue at all, though. How would you cook garlic? I sautee it in butter or olive oil and it doesn't stink at all.
Are you a vegetarian or someone living in a very poor urban city? I am getting that vibe from you.
