I live in "Unspecified Prefecture in Kanto" near Tokyo.

Ramen is so fucking good. Holy shit it is my favorite food right now, I swear. I eat it 2 or 3 times a week and thanks to the sheer variety I havent had the same bowl twice.

Yesterday I had this, Tan Tan Men. A ramen version of chinese dandan mien. Obviously not nearly as spicy but extremely delicious.

How do they make the egg yolk so red?

>> No.11957275

>>11957242
That's what the yolk of a well-fed chicken looks like. It's not unusually red, it's normal.

You're probably used to paler yolks, that comes from the nutritional deficiencies of factory farmed chickens.

>It’s probably some affects from the picture

Why would you think this. You've fried an egg before, right? You've watched it cook. Did you see the yolk change color from raw to cooked? No. you didn't.

The color of the egg comes from the diet of the hen. Some commercial chicken feeds contain marigold flowers. Why? Because that dyes the eggs a darker color.

China has more variations. The creamy pork bone soup thing is just something Japs are autistic about, but that exists in China too. And according to wikipedia:

>The word ramen is a Japanese transcription of the Chinese lamian (拉麵).[17][18] In 1910, a Chinese restaurant serving ramen in Yokohama's Chinatown received public praise in Japan.[19][20] Until the 1950s, ramen was called shina soba (支那そば, literally "Chinese soba") but today chūka soba (中華そば, also meaning "Chinese soba") or just ramen (ラーメン) are more common, as the word "支那" (shina, meaning "China") has acquired a pejorative connotation.[4]

Also because older generations are too stuck in the past and refuse to give up old rivalry; most of the chinese/japanese/korean youth are open minded and diplomatic, they’re just waiting for the old guard(boomers) to die so they can stop the shit flinging.

What does authenticity have to do with this argument? If anything it works against you. Japanese curry is not "authentic" it is its own thing, closer to a stew, and it is great comfort food. Modern ramen is not "authentic" or "lamein", it is a new thing, Japanese ramen.

do i need to hire an indian man to shit directly into your mouth in order for
you to accept it is authentic curry? there’s english curry, somalian curry, turkish curry, etc. etc. all cultural ideas and culinary traditions propagate, spread and improve or change to fit the different circumstances of that ethnicity. ramen may have been inspired by a chinese dish but it is vastly different now from its chinese origins; i dont fucking remember traditional chinese noodle dishes making use of french cooking techniques or using cured salt water fish as a soup base. historically most Chinese citizens in the mainland are landlocked and don’t have access to oily and pungent salt water fishes. Ramen and japanese culinary traditions has differentiated it self from its chinese roots because of its culture and geography. so do this thread a fucking solid favor and fuck off.

Ok, I'm obviously not Asian. So explain to me this so maybe I can get it

To me, a soup is really meant to be like this, where you eat a mixture of foods

It seems this Japanese form of soup is different entirely in concept, the individual portions can't be eaten with a spoon, therefor must be consumed individually like an entire egg or a slab of meat, and even the noodles. What's left is a broth, which I guess you would then finish off like a Western soup either with spoon or by drinking.

So basically, it's less of a soup in that sense and more of a multi part meal, that just happens to be floating in its final portion. Is this right?

>> No.11965352

>>11965324
No.

When a Japanese soup, which is essentially created in a Chinese form, cooked by a Japanese chef, who is essentially a Chinese, it's not authentic Japanese soup, basically it's Chinese soup, so it's bowl of gutter oil. These are just the facts.
