Kumquats are awesome but it seems most of the time I buy them they are bitter and garbage instead of a good batch. It's really hard to find nice ones.

This one time a local farmers market had mandaquats which are some giant ass kumquart mandarin hybrid and they were the best thing on earth. Never seen them again since that one time.

I have a tree in my backyard and my dad and I have been making loads of spicy kumquat marmalade, based off Chef John's recipe. It's great.
Pictures is the marmalade with some goat cheese. Really really tasty.
They're also very good halved and sprinkled with some Garam Masala.
