You could be using the wrong muscles to do so, which would make you tire out far faster than you normally would.

A very wide balloon-shaped whisk works the best. And remember that your goal isn't to "mix up the cream", it's beat air into it.

Oh, and adding too much vanilla extract can fuck you over too.
