>I go to my grocery store if I want a quick, cheap sub.
The stores by me will make subs to order, and just charge for the meat & cheese by the pound. No additional charge for the roll, vegetables, or condiments. As long as you don't try to make a fucking Dagwood, you can get a fresh, hand-made sub for $5 or less. They do nail you for $1.99 for a fountain drink, if that's your thing.

I like them. I usually go with sweet onion teriyaki with a ton of japapenos or the meatball sub. The workers at mine don't give a shit so they load them up with meat/veggies and usually give you free cookies

Okay keep in mind its been some years and I was pretty high most of the time I worked there. The Tuna as I remember wasn't one of the worst things. It came in plastic bags and its basically just tuna mixed with mayo. Store it in the fridge put in a metal 6th pan on the line. You clean the line and put it in the fridge behind the counter overnight. Ours wasn't bad because we kept our shit clean but yeah if you store it improperly or leave it too long it could be nasty. The shit like turkey and Ham came in plastic bags maybe stacked 5 or 6 inches high. Most of this shot goes in pans so the main worry is retarded employees or something in transport. The meatballs are little balls of shit. We mixed it with marinara in a plastic Third pan and Microwaved it. The breakfast food was the most ignored. And was could be kept under the line the longest (because no one eats that shit). The bread comes in frozen sticks. You spray it with water or put seasoning and cheese on top and bake it. The chicken teriyaki was probably the best thing on the menu and the cookies are pretty gud
