11884341 No.11884341 [Reply] [Original]

In additional to the veganfag pic related Almond milk is also more accessible to minorities since it has no dairy and no lactose intolerance issues arise.

It is better for diets as it has low calories and does not cause bloating and hard stools.

It also has more vitamins and calcium compared to cow piss.

Do you enjoy almond milk "so much"? You didn't say that. You just said you like it better than milk. That's not my concern. I'm just saying that the only thing almond milk has in common with milk chemically is the color, and almond milk is more like water.

I don't think almond milk is the best option in regard to flavor when choosing between liquids with the chemical properties of water. I'd prefer water, myself. Cheaper, just as tasty, and I get to choose my own vitamin supplements instead of having them prescribed by the manufacturer.

Nah, that's not even remotely accurate. Dairy cow lives roughly 5 years on average and can produce a shit ton of milk in that time 300 days of the year, compared to the immense amount of water and time it takes to grow a single almond-- which takes FIVE FUCKING YEARS for one tree to bear nuts compared to roughly 2 years for a dairy cow from conception.

>dairy cow produces roughly 6-7 gallons of milk average a day
>takes about 50 gallons of water daily max with feed, 30- 40 on cooler days (which are more common in the diary industry which works out of the northern U.S.)
>Roughly 7 gallons of water per gallon of cow milk daily at worst conditions

>almonds take about 1.1 gallons of water per nut if California's almond industry is to be believed (likely much more given typical drought conditions)
>roughly 60 almonds used to produce a full gallon of almond milk
>this doesn't include the water and usage for other ingredients used in the 'brewing' process to make the 'milk'

Guessing it's partially the sugar/electrolytes, but largely the casein proteins in milk -- it's rich in glutamic acid and a bunch of other essential amino acids that get depleted during exercise, but its effects are doled out over a prolonged period of time compared to other quick-acting proteins like whey -- meaning casein can be highly effective both before and after intense workouts to delay muscle fatigue and promote recovery.

Honestly, casein seems to be a highly underrated protein. It's also a protein that can't be found at all in a true vegan diet because it's found strictly in dairy, so they go full-on 'fox and the grapes' mode and demonize it as unhealthy with pseudo-science (basically using the same logic trains as antivaxxers) despite a massive amount of research showing it's wholly beneficial for general health and muscle building/maintenance: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/263378881_Casein_and_Whey_Proteins_in_Human_Health

Like maybe you could have a company van go around seller’s houses to collect it daily. Two people, a technician and a doctor evaluate the seller to make sure the milk’s ok and extract it. Sellers just need to download an app and put in when and where the company can pick it up. Sellers get the payment through app or a check depending on the volume extracted. Wtf is wrong with ppl,in my shity island of Crete we cultivate a lot of almonds and its is part of our diets (raw, in sweets, granita and ice cream, milk and soumada our traditional summer drink made from almonds, sugar, and rose water) that doesn't mean that you have to cut down on dairy milk, cheese and the whole goodness that comes from milking livestock. The Mediterranean diet (tried and tested for hundreds of years leading to long health lives) includes both and it is for sure quite better from any of this modern quack diets that tell you that dairy is poison and shit like that. So many things wrong with your comment.

>carbs are the cause of heart disease and diabetes
Incorrect. Type 1 diabetes is a genetic condition. Type 2 diabetes is initially caused by an excess of intramyocellular lipids (ie. fat which is stored in your muscle cells). Some level of intramyocellular lipids is normal and healthy. It accumulates in the same way as other body fat. That is to say, that eating too much food results in the body storing extra energy in the form of fat. With lipids, they are broken down into free fatty acids whereas protein and carbs are both broken down into fat via the process of lipogenesis. The problem is that when you accumulate too much intramyocellular lipids, it interferes with the process whereby your muscles absorb glucose (to be stored as glycogen, which is the body's preferred fuel source; meaning it uses glycogen for energy first, before fat). Insulin is a key component needed for your muscles to absorb glucose. When there are excess intramyocellular lipids, it interferes with insulin and prevents the muscles from absorbing glucose, resulting in a sugar continuing to accumulate in the blood (and eventually being stored as fat, since the body is unable to effectively make glycogen out of it). There is one other very important factor when it comes to insulin resistance, and that has to do with muscle fatty acid oxidation rate (aka. the rate that the body can convert intramyocellular lipids to usable energy). Muscle fatty acid oxidation rate can be increased via regular endurance exercise (ie. long distance running/cycling).
Your misconception about diabetes and carbs is the result of conflating the symptoms with the root cause. Insulin resistance causes high blood sugar. High blood sugar does not cause insulin resistance. The actual data indicates that insulin resistance is caused by eating too much food and not getting enough exercise. Fad dieters like the keto morons are always going to lie to make their fad seem best.
