Is Steak and Shake good? Never see anyone complain about it nor sing it's praises, odd for a fast food joint on this board

>> No.11863055

It's only ok. Shakes are pretty good. Fries suck. Price is cheap

>> No.11863057

only ever go there for a shake every 2 months so I don't really have an opinion on their food

>> No.11863058

>>11863049
It's hard to make a smash burger taste bad, cheese is nice and melty too.

>> No.11863059

>>11863049
It's not odd. They're not a large chain and most people here aren't living in the midwest where most of their locations are.

This person has everything right. Their burgers are okay and inexpensive. Their shakes are good, and their fries are literal woodchip splinters with either way too little or way too much salt.

>> No.11863258

Best burger place for my money
>Garlic cheeseburger
>BBQ cheeseburger
>Mushroom and swiss
>Guac and pepperjack burger
>Frisco cheeseburger
>Other delicious limited run burgers
>Hotdogs
>Tendies
>Fries (regular, or seasoned with cajun or parmesan)
>Lots of milkshake options

And the best part... I've ordered a garlic double value meal, added an additional guac/jack burger, and added a shake, and got the whole thing for under $9. This place gives me the same feeling as finding a 50% off sale or lots of money lying on the ground. It's fast food but the taste and variety are easily fast casual tier. Plus their staff seems more competent and focused than average. This place is the definition of underrated. Even days where I'm like "ewww fast food," I have to admire how legitimate this place is in a landscape of gimmicky fuckshit

theres a ton in nyc/queens wtf r u talking about

>> No.11863275

the last time I went there, I ordered a shake and an order of onion rings.
first thing I notice was the onion rings were soaked in oil. but the worst part was the overwhelming flavor of mushrooms. the all girl crew must of been strapped for time and instead of using the flat top to cook the mushrooms, they put them in the deep fryer.
I won't be going back

I think the burgers are great, better than in-n-out, but because of coastal elitism no one would ever say that without expecting to be mocked

>Steak 'n Shake is an American casual restaurant chain located primarily in the Midwest
>Today, Steak 'n Shake restaurants are located in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.

Ron and Fez used to live in Florida and have spent plenty of time in shittier places than NYC, so that might be why

Most of their locations are in the Midwest. Your comment about New York doesn't change how most of their locations are in the Midwest so I don't know what you're trying to say here.

The food is good but never go in the drive-thru, "Hot Food Fresh" is a great idea but doesn't work good on a 4 minute time limit. And for the love of God, NEVER work there

Red Robin burgers are good. I know there are people who will say "Umm, not as good as Whataburger/In-n-Out/White Castle/McDonald's" but most of them are fast food shills who would eat out of a trash can if it meant they didn't have to pay more than $5 for a days worth of food

This. I tried it once and walked out after 30 minutes. Unfortunately we were driving through rural Kentucky, it happened to be a Friday night. The entire local high school football team was there. They had one chance, but never again. I'm pretty sure we were supposed to get table service, but it didn't happen, we got back on the road and got the fuck out of there. Once we arrived in a much larger town there were better choices, or at least... choices. Fuck, I hate Kentucky so much. I wish I could fly over it, but I find myself driving through it a lot.

Ah those yellow wire protectors/visibility sheaths for when there’s snow, plows or other low viz weather. I felt a little gay saying “sheath” tho
