I just ate a piece. It's not completely inedible, but it does taste more like crackling than it does bacon.

It's usually okay if you eat it with something else then, like on an egg sandwich or crumble it up to add to beans.

it's ok anon. bacon is surprisingly hard to get right. it keeps cooking out of the pan more than basically anything
crumble it up

That's OK. I used to work at a place where we would cook 10 lbs boxes of bacon all at once in a giant convection bread oven. And people would forget to turn the timer on all the time and burn the shit out of the bacon. If it wasn't to bad we used it as crumbled bacon and made Caesar salad a feature item.

I prefer oven baking bacon. Not in a drip pan. It cooks in its own fat and it's awesome. You have to pat it down more, but I think it comes out better. When I do it correctly and don't overcook it, anyway.

Don’t you get literally the same result with pan cooked bacon?

Just toss on a pile of paper towels and let it dry like a normal person.

If you want the bacon fat to end up in paper towels, just go the microwave route for less cleanup.
Honestly the only reason I ever buy bacon is when its part of a larger recipe, and the fat in the pan is always used.

I just converted from virgin-tier trying to cook bacon in flat strips to Chad-tier cooking in a big wad and just keeping it moving. Vastly superior method. More consistent, gets crispy way before it starts burning. It's got a good beat, and it's easy to dance to. I give it a 9, Dick.

The pizza shop next door serves footlong sandwiches too, their pizza is some very good thin crust but I've seen them put the bacon in the microwave when putting it on footlongs, hopefully they dont do that shit with the bacon they put on pizzas.

How heretic is that ?

>> No.11858923

>>11858348
how does that work
also whenever I cook it (always have used a pan) the middle cooks way faster than the sides and I end up with barely cook sides and cooked to fuck middle.

I cook my bacon in the microwave sometimes when I don't feel like cooking it on the stove.
It honestly comes out fine, just less fatty I guess since all the grease is absorbed in the paper towels, unless they don't use paper towels.
